That's right. It must be a difference in culture. In my home country, Hungary there is a huge demand for fully-furnished appartments as people usually rent short-term and prefer buying one even if takes 40 years to pay off the credit. I arrived in Germany without furniture. Of course, I had clothes and household staffs, but "nothing" else. But it is common here if you come from abroad and you were not renting a flat before. In this case it can be a relief not to start with buying every piece of furniture. But thanks for the info, I understand, in English-speaking countries it is the norm.
